QA48: Why do you prescribe electronically?

Electronic prescribing has been shown to be the safest way to ensure that the proper information is transmitted to your pharmacist while keeping everyone’s records up to date about what medications your child is taking. Soon we hope to be able to have different doctors’ offices communicating electronically such that when your child is seen by a specialist up at Children’s Hospital, they can easily access your child’s health information, including prescriptions. – Steve Mendes, MD
